Fletcher worked as a journalist for various newspapers. His first books were of an historical nature, but he soon turned to writing crime fiction. He also produced a number of supernatural short stories. His best-known works included The Investigators (1902), The Secret Way (1903), The Harvest Moon (1908), The Secret Cargo (1913), The Amaranth Club (1918), The Orange-Yellow Diamond (1920), Scarhaven Keep (1920), The Mrken more Mystery (1922), The Great Brighton Mystery (1925), The Box-Hill Murder (1929), Murder in Four Degrees (1931) and The Ebony Box (1934). |
