A Nobel Prize winner in 1907 for Literature, Kipling worked as a journalist in India from 1882 to 1889 when he returned to England. Perhaps Kipling's best work is to be found in his short stories which dealt with a multitude of subjects. Among his more famous works are Wee Willie Winkie (1889), Barrack-Room Ballads (1892), The Jungle Book (1894), The Second Jungle Book (1895), Captains Courageous (1897), and Kim (1901). |
